God birthed SHC in a living room with a handful of people. That group grew, moved to a larger home, and eventually launched "publicly" in the Cobb Theater. For 6 years, the Lord united us, matured us, and outgrew the Hollywood 16. After a few unsuccessful attempts at acquiring other facilities, the elders felt led to do something we had talked about since our infancy: Be a church that planted other churches.

The people of SHC left the theater to plant one church in two locations both north and south of the river as SHC:Northport and SHC:Big Sandy (now Covenant Church). This move allowed us to move from a regional church model to intentional focus in two local communities. We planted by strategically partnering with the local elementary schools and in the winter of 2018 became self sustaining autonomous churches.

The Lord allowed Safe Haven Northport to partner with the incredibly generous people of Northgate Baptist Church through utilizing and worshipping in a 12,000 sq foot unused facility. Having now added three new kids worship areas, along with a a complete interior renovation, we'd love to have you come worship with us at 10AM this Sunday at
